Abstract
Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) has changed the treatment strategy of hepatocellular carcinoma. Although RFA is usually applied for the treatment of small (¡Â3 cm) hepatocellular carcinomas, the combination with hepatic arterial chemoembolization has expanded the use of RFA to larger tumors. Refinements have lessened complications, leading to better prognosis even in the longer term.
